*Incase something happens, like a car accident that they would need to pay for. *It depends on who it is and if they have a job or not. And if they have a job, how much they get paid. For me it would be about $200 or $300.
*to have on hand if they need money quickly i.e; broke their arm. *it depends how many expenses they have, if they have a car, then they need to account for gas, insurance and maintenance. With my expenses right now, a good amount would probably be $300
I see it this way if a student's parents lose their job they can help with pay for there own food and such and this would help latter on in life too. The emergency for a student would look like money for food gas, and clothes. Adam
A teenager would need an emergency fund just in case something happened to something that he was responsible for, or if he broke something of someone else's. 500 dollars would probably be good, but a little more would be great.
Just incase you wreak your car, drop your cellphone in the sink or something like that...... and $500 dollars would be good, but more would be even better!
When a teenager is living at home, there usually aren't life and death emergencies that they're responsible for, but an emergency fund could help if something happened within their family. Also, an emergency fund could be used for entry fees or unexpected things necessary for extra curricular activities, when the teenager loses their job. Five hundred dollars should be enough, although more wouldn't hurt.
an emergency fund for a teenager would probably be used for things like trips or small things that you parents wont pay for. the amount could be up to a couple hundred dollars.
