The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. Proverbs 22:7 - Getting out of debt isn’t easy, but the freedom that comes with it is so worth it. - We need to work our way out of debt whenever we have the chance to. - I’m not rich or poor and I’m also not in debt. But the money I receive is split between God (10%), savings (80%), and occasionally spending (10%.)
Verse 2: Proverbs 3:9-10 - “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.”
Summary: “Firstfruits” means to give our first and our best to God. Instead, we often give God our leftovers. We may have a good attitude and contribute willingly, but we are thinking backwards. The Bible tells us that we should give God the first part of our income. In giving to God first, we are saying that God is first in our lives and not possessions.
Proverbs 21:5 “Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run; hurry and scurry puts you farther behind.”
It’s very well put, if I said last minute that I want to go to Hawaii, and I took out a loan, I would be farther behind in savings. I would be pestered with more payment from my loan. But, if I plan ahead that I want to go to Hawaii, hey, I could actually go and not worry about paying off a loan. In my age group, I’d have to say, we don’t really plan ahead. I’m one to go to the store and say I need to get these few things, and get the complete opposite. But I actually made a list this week and it worked in the end. Thus, since I planned ahead, I’m one step ahead in my basic needs.
Matthew 6:21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. -People spend the most amount of money on things that mean the most to them. -Be careful where your heart is, because you will spend a lot of money in that place. - If, for example, movies mean a lot to you, you might spend a lot on them. This is also money that could be used elsewhere for things that you might need. There's nothing bad about buying a movie(s), but if you had to choose between the greatest, newest DVD that just came out, and something like groceries, you had probably better pick groceries. I hope this makes sense.
Acts 8:20 - Peter answered: "May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money."
- I believe that this verse illustrates how many people think that they can buy eternal life by donating to charities or churches or ministries or by doing "good" things with their wealth. - We can learn the financial principle that money is an earthly tool, that it doesn't matter how much money we have or don't have, but that salvation is a matter of faith and belief, not of riches. - I can relate this to my life by the fact that I don't need to be rich or have a job with a large paycheck to minister and witness to the people around me. The love and grace that I've received from God is true wealth and I can share that with the people in my life.
Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have.
This verse means that we should not love money, because money can only get so much, but to be content with the things God has provided. I think that people can always want more sometimes, so this verse is probably one lots of people highlight in their bibles.
Ecclesiastes 5:10 - Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless.
❉ This verse means that we should not love money or we will become a slave to money ❉ Money should not be our God. If we become greedy we will never be satisfied with what we have. ❉ Sometimes teenagers (and everyone) let themselves be almost controlled by money and become greedy for more. That’s not the way God wants it to be.
Luke 16:11-So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? *we need to be wise with our money to help learn responsibility in ordinary things before we can be used in greater ones. *we should learn how to handle money well to become mature and able to be used effectively by God for greater things.

The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;...... Psalm 24:1 #1. This verse means that everything belongs to god. #2. From this verse we can learn that we should remember that God owns everything and trust Him to use it according to His purposes. #3. I guess for teenagers this would look like a grateful attitude for everything that we "own," and being willing to part with it.
